National-Science-day-2024

National Science Day

On the occasion of National Science Day 2024, the District Education and Training Institute (DIET) Chiri organized various competitions. The theme for this year’s National Science Day was “Indigenous Indian technology for developed India.” Students from Class VIII of KGBV, JBAV, and CM SOE actively participated in quizzes, debates, and wall painting competitions. The event saw the enthusiastic presence of participants and nodal teachers from all 7 blocks of the district.

The inauguration of the event was graced by Deputy Education Officer Abhishek Jha and DIET Chiri’s Principal, Abhishek Badai, who ceremonially lit a lamp. The District Education Officer highlighted the importance of the day, emphasizing the resolution of current issues through a scientific perspective. He encouraged students to draw inspiration from the lives of great scientists and to nurture their curiosity.

DIET’s Principal motivated the participating students, urging them to actively engage in such programs. He also urged nodal teachers to provide more opportunities for students to grasp scientific concepts at the school level. The event also received guidance and encouragement from members of the decision-making committee, retired teachers Mr. Kineshwar Mahato (Math/Science) and Mr. Devanand Mahato (Arts).

Competitions such as debates and quizzes tackled relevant topics, such as the appropriate use of mobile phones by students. Winners were recognized across various categories, with certificates and trophies awarded to those securing first, second, and third places. Additionally, all participants were appreciated with certificates for their efforts.

The success of the event was credited to the diligent efforts of DIET members Shyam Bihari Mahato and Mahboob Alam, along with nodal teachers Neelam Kumari, Tarun Kumar, Deepak Ram, Nareshchandra Mahato, Smriti Shahadev, Sangeeta Kumari Sahu, Rashmi Manisha Bakhal, Shweta Kujur, Rupa Kumari, and Soni Toppo.
